I think the shock absorbers on my 1997 1.8 Vectra may be worn out?

Its done 100,000 miles and I don%26#039;t know when they were last changed, will replacing the normal spring shocks with good quality gas ones make a real diffence to handling, breaking and cornering? I don%26#039;t want the car lowered. Suggestions appreciated, please note abuse will be reported.|||if they havent been done befor then they hav not done bad 9 years and 100,000 not bad at all

monroe are very good as far as non genuine parts are conserned,

or gen parts only!|||The spring shocks are struts. If they are worn(noticed by a thunk on bumps) and with 100,000 miles i have no doubt they are you need to replace the struts. Im guessing front have struts and rears are just good ole gas shocks. You can%26#039;t switch from struts, or springs, to gas shocks. And yes replacing the shocks will help with handling.|||if it ain%26#039;t broke don%26#039;t fix it rear bushes go very often and wear tyres but apart from that all very good.bushes changed very easy by any half good mechanic
